This was a book that took some bravery on my part. It's been a decade plus of me wrestling with these topics and encouragement to those writers and scholars who take some time with things. The decision then to really write a book that will push some buttons, I think, or at least demand that people ask some hard questions really was also stirred up by the kind of continual, both in the news and in my personal life,. not me personally, but meeting people who say Christianity hasn't been great for women.
