How to Understand Opportunistic Rebalancing
The idea of opportunistic rebalancing is that when an asset class deviates from your plan by a certain percentage, it should be re-balanced. This can happen during significant bear or bull markets like for example the COVID pandemic last year followed by a bull market. If you were just rebalancing once a year, you would have missed that opportunity. So what opportunisticRebalancing says is look, let's forget the time, that's not really our main focus, it can be part of this but our main focus is let's rebalance when an assetclass deviates from our plan by a Certain Percentage.
