What Is the Arbitrary in Objectivism?

An arbitrary idea or claim is a claim for which no evidence is offered. And indeed, it's usually i don't need evidence. You knock it down, you respond to it. I'm not going to try to giveyo evidence, let alone try to prove itA and so it's a claim that's really define the need for evidence. Such when you get something like that, what objectivism says is, you do not respond to it - because you can't say it's true. A falsehood is something where a person has tried and failed. So in that it's worse than failing. It's the pretence that you're concerned with knowledge and truth when you're not.
