A lot of, if there are implicit metaphysical assumptions made in a lot of these movements, they're about the primacy of the self. And I think that implicitly these ideas of there being this kind of energy out there in the world that you can get in touch with by focusing on your own desires is very difficult to do. The metaphysics of it are look within yourself, focus on your desires and the universe out there kind of, it doesn't sort of conform to it exactly, but your desires are the surest avenue to whatever's out there. That's as close as you can find to a unifying narrative in all of them.
