I think one of the best ways for any sort of newbie copywriter to launch your career is by negotiating work with the company that they're leaving. So that is something that you can really try to do before you leave especially if you have a great relationship with that company. But if you can't do that definitely as Lynn says keep in touch with the people that you've worked with and keep track of where they go. You know follow people and make sure especially that I do that a lot with editors so they would just take me from magazine to magazine but it's really important to do that.
