Yaira Camino is a 16-year-old student in the Dominican Republic. She and her mother reconnected at university after Poppy's mom died of dengue fever 10 years ago. Yaira finds an envelope for her father, who she had not spoken to since his death last year. The night before he left, he touched her hair and told her he had to go.
