Hollywood Versus the Author

The more popular your book is, the more likely someone's going to be interested in taking it and making it into a movie. Big publishers have departments that all they do is sell rights for their books; if you're an independent author, how do you get out there? The most surefire path about selling right are direct-to-video or online sales. If you've written something for someone who doesn't know where to find them, just keep writing. You'll never make as much money doing this kind of thing but at least you can say 'I told you so'
