The Importance of Predictive Models

I was applying the kind of learning methods that John Holland had pioneered. You come up with arbitrary rules, and in this very simple case you just learn which rules work better over time. The comfort level here was beyond 60 you don't want to be there blow 60 it's fun. And lo and behold my little toy model and my computer settled down to around 60 varying. I thought this will be chaotic, meaning it won't have a predictable pattern behind it if it did people would quickly learn that pattern. That turned out to be correct.
