Introduction
Ruthie Gilmore: I came of age mid 90s through 2000s in the context of like a mainstreamed gay and lesbian rights advocacy framework. She says she was frustrated by focus on welfare, immigration policy as well as trans liberation work. In her new book "Administrative Violence,"Gilmore argues that these systems will say they are now race or gender neutral. They will write laws and there will be policy frameworks we're living under which don't say Translaw is bad but instead targeted at particular people.
