Genny wanted to find a way to cut through that noise and listen for the subtle movements of greenland's enormous ice sheet by tapping into sismic noise. Often, though, that requires a lot of drilling, which can be difficult and dangerous. So Genny had another idea: why don't we drop as ocean bottom sismometer, which is used by marine gepysi? And in our case, we will be sitting in this quiet place, safe from this monster icebergs floating above us without being touched and destroyed. And we will be listening like eavesdropping, exactly on the surface on which this massive slab of ice is moving several meters a day.
