We need to go deep into our subconscious areas to find out what's the reason I wear this mask of personality. Why do I over-identify with this type? That's the story behind the core fear that fuels so much of the motivation. If we have any chance to actually cultivate and sustain this stuff called emotional intelligence, we need to get in there. The way that adding the EQ to the Enneagram makes it more practical and less theoretical.
