The Panther Organization - A Brief History
Bobby seal was his number two. Eldridge cleaver was probably the third one that might have taken the mantle, but he fled the country after his 19 68 shoot out th police. The organization became so shot through with informants and agents provocatour that paranoid panthers very quickly were torturing and murdering other panthers they suspected of snitching for the copse. And by 19 69, they had to close their rolls to new members altogether, just because they couldn't vet people.
