The metrical grid is probably the most accessible theory for people without formal linguistic training. It can be based on position and it can be based based on civil weight, which is how you get the weight sensitivity. And then it also computes where secondary stress will appear. So that worked out, and I was also able to implement that in phonics using the scalar features in phonics.
