The Evolution of Life on Earth

We've now found well over 200 kinds of organic molecules floating in large clouds in space. This has led some people to think that those molecules might have found their way to Earth and may have helped with the first evolution of life on Earth. It makes me wonder if the constituents that are found when you break down a living organism don't add up to life if you're poor into a jar. But somehow that $1,900 in change worth of elements seem to have an emergent property when they're together in the right combination.
