The Lone Star of Liberia
The title Lone Star of Liberia indicates that Liberia is a beacon that should attract all black people back toward Africa. The only exception is the Haitians who can already boast of living in an independent black republic, he says. Durham aims to push Bliden's emigrationism to its logical conclusion, which turns out to involve single-minded dedication to the growth of Liberia. He sees no value in Black West Indians remaining and being acknowledged as an integral portion of the British Empire.
