When Iqibod doesn't appear at work or anywhere by dinner the next day, Katrina's father gets worried and sends out a search party. All they find is a trampled saddle and Iqibid's hat and a smashed pumpkin next to a river. But no sign of the man himself. And then what the book says, the townsfolk quote shook their heads and came to the conclusion that Iqibode had been carried off by the galloping Hessian.
