How Important Is a Healthy Coral Reef to Your Livestock?
A healthy coral reef is an almost preposterous profusion of life. It interacts with the environment above the water too, including some of the sea birds i'm particularly interested in. They prey on fish that live and grow around reefs, and later on repay the nutrients with the guane that runs into the ocean from their colonies. Vonetta dawson talks to marine biologist tim lammont who recorded underwater sounds made by a wide variety of species.
