Do We Know if Lewis Ever Met the Queen?
There is an account by his stepson of some member of the royal family visiting Lewis's home in Oxford, the kilnals. But I doubt very much it was the Queen. Do we know why? Well, I presume that it was just someone who had enjoyed Lewis's writings. And do we know if Lewis ever met any kings or queens of Britain? He never met any of them that he lived through the reigns of,. As far as I'm aware, he did go to a Buckingham Palace garden party in 1956 - which he didn't much like.
