Women in Medicine
Early on in medicine, there was a professional class of women healers. They were healthcare professionals that were often called midwives or obstetricians. From the Hellenistic period onward, they start to be called physicians. And we have over 50 attestations of women physicians who rose to prominence. Stu: How else might the wandering womb be lured back into place? Kristi: It's something to do with beaver bums.
