Ethics Is Meaningless

An ethical claim, for example, like you shouldn't murder, is not true by nor can it be verified. So does that mean that ethical claims are somehow put into a garbage can marked meaningless? Vakatvimitch er: It rather depends who you are talking to. Some members of the vienna circle did think that actually ethical claims were going to turn out to be empirically the sort of things we could confirm. They tended to instead say that it has kind of meaning, just not cognitive meaningfulness. In other cases, like theology, they were much more dismissive.
