Proverbs 26 is a book of instruction, styled as instruction and the kind of teaching of parents to their children. The writer styles this book as something that his mother and his father are giving him advice in many different situations. In any one of these examples though, it's fundamentally based on the importance of listening. If you're wise, you will actually know when to do one or when to do the other.
