Is It Possible to Treat This Generation as a Time Stamp Within the Next Years or So?

In Matthew 24, jesus states that this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Is it possible we're missing some obvious context? In the preceding chapter, where jesus refers to the pharisees and scribes as a brood of vipers, the words used are etymologically similar. Also in the end of chapter 23, jesu likens himself to a mother hen, wanting to cover her brood and offspring. And 25, jesUS goes on to tell parables about two groups, i e, the faithful servant and the worthless servant.
