How to Irrigate Your Garden

I hand water the main garden with a long handled watering wand. The things that get wanted the most, of course, would be newly planted seeds or seedlings. When you have a high organic matter in your soil too, it does tend to hold more moisture. I use lots of straw or shredded leaves as mulch around tomatoes and peppers and squash,. cucumber, and most of my vegetables. So those are some of the ways I try to reduce my watering but still make sure my plants have adequate moisture.
