The Realism of the Dead
The cadavers movements, the flutter of mechanical eyelids and the tight grip of its smooth hands give no indication that it had laid dead for 30 days. The students raise their SLR cameras fiddling with the settings as the woman stands mannequin still awaiting commands. Can Rebecca Hintman see the strangers through those new mechanical eyes? If so, what does she think of them taking photos of her dead body with so much glee? What about you? I've never been able to shake how disconnected the eye seam from the rest of the body.
