The Church Is Not Modern in All Its Aspects
The church is an ancient and collective body of teachings. It has no fear of complexity, for one thing. And so the catholic church doesn't need an ideology to save it from from all these questions that the individual doesn't have time to grapple with. So in a way, its very nature is contrary to the benefit the ideologies offer - which are for individuals with very, very limited free time.
