Sammy and the Star Spangled Banner in Selma
Sammy sang the star spangled banner from a stage that had been constructed out of coffins borrowed from a local undertaker. Selma was an awakening for sammy, one which allowed him to approach activism from a radically different point of view than pressed in a man called adam just a few months earlier. Moved by his first hand experience in alabama, sammy organized a benefit called broad answers selma at which stars ranging from barbar strizan to allan alda took the stage with Sammy and collectively helped raise more than $50k for martin luther king's organization.
