The Importance of Observation in Creative Work
I started drawing from observation in a sketchbook with a fountain pen which helped me get over perfectionism. I found very quickly that it's so much easier to get people to appreciate you as an artist like if you want them to like you as a writer. It makes my job of explanation in this foreign country when no one knows me where I am often the only brown person in the circles that I'm walking around in. With art it's like a five second thing I just need to show you a drawing and if it works it immediately works, says author Ravi Agrawal.
