Mozart's Slow Introduction

The first movement as a whole might be the most ambitious symphonic movement Mozart ever wrote. If you take both the repeats in the main part of the movement it actually clocks in as long as Beethoven's Eroicus Symphony. This introduction takes between two and a half and three and a half minutes to play depending on your tempo. It seems a bit long to repeat a motive that many of you might know very well from Mozart's legendary opera Don Giovanni.
