The Horace's Desire to Help
Radzam's first encounter with Horace is in English. The way he seems to make sense of this world is in fact in terms which hybridise and anthropomorphise the Horace. We see that his tendency to use human features as a benchmark amongst which others must be measured. His colonial tendencies are a bit more subtle. He refigours initially Malacandrians in human terms. But we do want to remember that he's presenting us a vision of this world to an uninitiated audience.
