Are We Born Dead?

Calvinists teach that we're born dead already. Seeno once in scripture does it teach that god is the one responsible for humbling us so that we would be lifted up, so that we'll be exalted? None of which can be shown by the text to mean total inability to respond to god's life giving truth from the time you're born. It's never found in the text. Ex excuse me, why can the corpse, like dead person, respond unwillingly?
