Using a Dropdown in a Rendering Function

Every drop down on the page is coupled to one another, just by the rules of that u i design. And in that world, all these functions, like the dropdown in a rendering function, is just like, tell me if i'm open or not. Or let's start with monolithic service and then slice off small pieces as long as we need them. That seems to work better to me than this modularizing approach where you have everything be its own self contained thing.
