How to Choose Your New Openings for Chess

I feel like I do fine when we hit the Nidorif um but I also have sort of told myself you know if I learn a new opening so I'm learning the karaoke on just a process of learning new structures and new positions will be good for my chess. There's some growing pains and maybe it's not going to be optimal for my result but for now I'm enjoying it so I'm just going to keep doing itSo how did you choose your new openings? It was more a matter of finding lines within e4 for that part of it than anything else. My number two goal as I get older I've talked on the podcast about developing old man chess.
