The Word on the Street: Juan Williams and Clarence Thomas
The word on the street is you kind of brought Clarence Thomas to the attention of Ronald Reagan. It all started in 1980 at the Fairmont Hotel overlooking San Francisco Bay. The hotel was bustling with black academics, black MDs, black lawyers and black dentists. At lunch, he happens to take a seat at the same table as this one guy. This young, very eager and very engaging young man wearing glasses.
