How Did the War Affect You?

I wasn't aware of the danger all around me when I was growing up. The divorce rate went up four times, just after the Second World War. My own family was broken up by it. And post-war people were gray and grim and sad,. Everyone had lost someone or knew someone who had it. There was a permeated that atmosphere so I weren't really aware. But I played war games in bomb sites. How strange is that? It was sort of playing on a stage set, really, of war.
