The Psychological Implications of Free Will

I don't think that the time will ever come when scientists show that free will is definitely true. I work with a theory called self-determination theory which is created by Ed D.C. and Richard Ryan over the last 50 years. That tells you what it's about is that human beings have a need to feel that they are choosing and causing their own behavior. When we feel instead that we're controlled by others or by our own impulses it's very distressing. So for humans there's a lot of evidence that we have developed these huge cerebral cortices that are that give us a lot of executive functioning power.
