The Sordid Politics of the Conservative Party
There's plenty of precedent in most elections for vile stuff being thrown around. But this seems like singling out your opposite number and saying that they personally are supporting sex offenders or people smugglers. It just makes the whole political arena ever more sordid. And what makes this really insidious, actually speaking for a moment as a journalist, is that I couldn't say this stuff. Nine times out of 10, a journalistic organisation that would run with this kind of thing would get sued.
