There's a huge gap between now and what Labour will end up doing in government. Margaret Thatcher is famous for all the things she did in her second term, not what she did in first term. The radical things tend not to happen immediately after an election that you won by being voted for. I was pleased to see Kia Stama adopt the idea of missions. And it is the idea that the state has a crucial role in the economy. We've become so used to the idea that basically the state leaves the economy to itself,. who leave the Bank of England to do inflation policy. That is no longer the world we live in.
