I began to see all of the teachings from all of the traditions as being skillful means. We test the teachings not, is this absolutely true or not, but we test it with the measure of pragmatism. Is this teaching creating more hatred, more violence, more conflict? It's really the response to that question. When we understand it as skillful means, then it's very possible to take from this wide array this wealth and ask that very pragmatic question.
