cael: I've never thought media, like covering media is a good industry to cover. For the first five months, i had monotization originally when i did start monotizing. The big thing that i would change if i didn't work at morning brew is i would treat a m o as a lige of a lige an for consulting. A lot of the other media companies are too focused on the large media companies and not enough on niche ones. And i think there's a real opportunity for someone to do something there in my notebook for a long time.
Welcome back to another episode of the Send & Grow podcast. This week, SparkLoop cofounder Louis Nicholls sits down with Jacob Donnelly, GM of B2B at Morning Brew and creator of A Media Operator — a media business covering the business of media.
We jump straight into the good stuff, including:
- how should media brands think about monetizing their email audiences?
- what growth channels worked for the AMO newsletter?
- paid subscriptions vs advertising — which revenue stream wins?
... and much, much more.
