How Do You Approach Free Loops?
I was working with Boy Wonder and 1985, two of the best living hip up producers. When he's making the beat, there isn't a single plug in involved. It's just raw sample selection and making sure like it's just the right level. The way for it loops and through loops really encourages this start of working where you're just looping the thing and changing the kick drum sample because it's got that step sequence of thing. So it's very easy to just keep it looping. I can tell you there's a story that really affected how I approached these things. And I think I was massively worse at it.
