The Cry of the Heart
My dad is the only one of their children who lived 13 times before my dad was born. My grandparents had two different responses to my dad being born and living. To love anything means that your heart will be rung and most certainly broken. Everything we love turns to loss because we know this. As C.S. Lewis has reminded us so many times, to love at all is to be vulnerable.
