How to Introduce Character in a Pilot

I was a world trinity norm like that guy just ran over its dog. One of the jokes that I hear from people repeated to me, most often was a norm entrance. So as much trouble as they were, they paid off sometimes. You talk about for sure. These jokes are based in character. And even, you know, the plots move based on character. We've all seen so many pilots for shows that this barrage of jokes and you don't know the characters so the jokes aren't as funny unless you know.
