The Limits of a Body
Deeren De Gree for wanted to be a dentist, so she studied dentistry. She tells us that in her first year as a dentist, she had to dissect a corpse. I just thought I was building up this picture of a woman who is sort of straining against the confines of her body and the possibilities that it can offer. It's such a fleshly book altogether and about the different ways of inhabiting a body and knowing bodies. You know, there's like shifting desire within this and the desire to meet the far reaches of female experience.
