Richard Cornell is an influential figure in the modern theory of civic liberalism. He was a student of Mises at NYU, but decided he did not want to teach. So he had gone into the philanthropy world. Dick and I met right around the year 2000. And he was trying to start something a journal. It was his project from the 1960s, really trying to understand this third sector.
