I was sort of learning about AI all the way through undergrad and then I think another inflection point was just during my masters where I was basically yeah focusing on machine learning like engaging with some of the cutting edge research. That felt like a big shift from you know being in the mindset of consuming knowledge to trying to produce knowledge even if that knowledge was just summaries of the latest papers. In the UK it's fairly common for people to get research internships maybe even in their first or second year of undergrad or is in the UK people are a bit like often savor until they're masters. There are often a bunch of research opportunities earlier than you might expect, so keep an eye out
