The God of Israel in Revelation 1
The church is under persecution from the Jewish community mostly, but later it's going to ramp up with the Romans. John wants them to know that he will deliver believers under persecution. God is capable of doing this as he delivered the remnant of Israel in the past. And more than that for John, this God became a man in Jesus Christ and John will specifically link his description of God in Revelation 1 for A, the first part of verse four.
