Edward waldofor heads up the centre for conservation and research at harvard's art museums. A pigment is a small coloured particle, and it is typically very small. Moden pigments are around one micron in size. Today, the forbes collection serves as this kind of living rainbow repository of all the stuff that has ever historically been used to create the humid made colors all around us.
