Afghanistan - The Property Right School

A lot of the important aspects of democracy is really at the local level. When we tried to create a state within afghanistan, it was very centralized and everything began top down. The talabans now takin power, and when they had power earlier, they were trying to do the same exact thing. They perceive centralization as a way to improve prospects for development. But there is not much accountability of rulers. And so the absence of constraints on political actors is something that we highlight in this book.
