The ancient Egyptians believed that the dead needed someone to bring them snacks. "I can walk in a steak, like a perfectly good steak into this dead person's tomb," he says of his own experience as a servant who brought food to mummies. The Egyptian people were able to assemble pyramids and have this civilization that was far more civilized than many of their contemporaries.
