The Perception and Language Lab

Researchers at the University of Delaware used a computer program called Blender to create animations of objects undergoing state changes. They showed subjects segments of these animations and they had to recall how melted that thing get. People will adjust this slider to be, to make the ice cube more melted than it really was. It's as if they're misremembering the ice cube as being farther along its state change than they actually saw. The experiment is available on our web page which is perceptionresearch.org.
